5K run generates funds for children’s mental health

Nearly 2,000 people gathered in Columbus, Ohio on Saturday for the On Our Sleeves 5K event, an ideal weather for a run aimed at raising awareness and funds for children’s mental health. The race took place at the Columbus Crew’s Lower.com Field and was a community run and walk that emphasized breaking stigmas associated with mental health.

Whitney Raglin Bignall, the associate clinical director for Nationwide Children’s Hospital, spoke about the importance of continuing to discuss mental health and break down the stigmas surrounding it. By participating in this event, individuals came together to support the cause and help provide essential mental health resources to those in need.

Since its inception in 2018, On Our Sleeves has provided free pediatric mental health education resources to over 6 million individuals across the United States. To learn more about the organization and how to get involved, visit their website.
